Extended Working Hours

Minden Family Practices is part of the Extended Working Hours Hub in Bury. You can book an appointment with a GP who will have access to your medical records. This means the GP will be able to make an accurate assessment of your condition and treat accordingly. The services are run in sites across Bury and also out of Moorgate Primary Care Centre, where our surgery is based. Appointments can be booked when you call in or when we are closed your call will be diverted to the Extended Working Hours service. Appointments are available Monday - Friday 6.30pm - 8pm and Saturday - Sunday 8am - 6pm.

Tower Family Healthcare Update

Since our formal announcement in September, each of our 7 practices have been working closely together to develop our merger plans alongside a range of partner organisations including our legal providers, accountants, IT provider, Bury's CCG & the Greater Manchester Health & Social Care partnership. We have also worked closely with our patient participation group members to develop our patient engagement plans and have recently completed a 5-week programme of 'Tower Family Healthcare' roadshows at each of our practice sites.

Work with each of our partner organisations and patient participation group members has been extremely positive and will, as you would expect, continue well into the new year when we expect to submit our formal business case to Bury's Primary Care Commissioning Committee to merge to a single organisation on 1st July 2018.

As a result of all of the work we have completed to date, we would also like to take this opportunity to let you know that our GP colleagues at the Uplands have made the difficult decision to not move forward with our merger plans to be part of Tower Family Healthcare. Over the past 12 months the Uplands have faced a number of changes and after considerable further reflection it was felt that any further change could not be sustained at this time. The remaining 6 Tower Family Healthcare practices whilst sad to hear this news fully understand their decision and continue to support their friends and colleagues at the Uplands medical practice who remain committed to providing the same high quality care they have always provided.

Now 6 practices, we each of us continue to maintain our excitement and enthusiasm to form Tower Family Healthcare and, subject to all regulatory approvals, continue to look forward to the opportunities and benefits we believe this will provide for our patients and our staff.

We are delighted to announce that as part of our merger plans to form Tower Family Healthcare, each of our 6 practices are coming together to run a patient engagement event on Tuesday 27th March at Bury Town Hall.  Running from 16.00 until 20.00, patients from each of our 6 practices are invited to come along and learn more about our developing plans.  Delivered by our GP partners, there will be a formal presentation at 16.00 and again at 18.00 for those patients who may not be able to make the earlier time.  In between these times, there will also be the opportunity to meet and chat informally with some of our GP Partners and staff about our plans.  Please check back here in a couple of weeks for full details of how to register for this exciting event!

Tower Family Healthcare Patient Engagement Roadshows!

Thank you to those that were able to meet with us during our recent patient engagement roadshows. We held morning, afternoon and evening sessions, where we were able to meet and speak to many of our patients.

Understanding the views of our patients will enable Tower Family Healthcare to maintain and build upon the best of what we do now and will also help to make our services even better in the future. We would, therefore, be grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete our patient questionnaire using the following link TFH Patient Questionnaire and either return it to a member of our reception team or email directly to
